Maybe the drink's giving him a boost, a shot of courage to go a little further, press a little closer. the pad of his thumb presses against Kon's lip, sliding down so he can feel his pulse.]

I wish I could say that Lavi is a decent kisser, but he's really had zero opportunity to explore beyond a few curious pecks, kisses he's only ever done to test himself as an aspiring Bookman, and then zero after while out on missions for the Order (because every smile directed his way could be an Akuma's, every soft hand could be the muzzle of a gun pressed to his heart).
So he's less decent and more new, but he thinks he's making up for lack of experience with enthusiasm. his hand slides to the back of Kon's neck, as much as to keep in place as it is for support. His knees are pressed against Kon's too -- If he moves any closer then he might just slip off his seat entirely, or end up in his lap, and wow wouldn't that be interesting?]

by contrast, kon has some experience. not leaps and bounds of it, but enough that he can account for it and they can figure out the rest of it together. there's no real time, for him. flirting and kisses, every now and then, but his mind is absorbed by his data, his projects, his goals. his hands just on the brink of being stained in blood for what he unwittingly allowed to happen, through letting a mad scientist take yoru.

his good hand comes up to frame lavi's jaw, fingers slipping into the tease of hair there. books and drinks go forgotten - and so does an occupied yoru - as he presses closer, gives an encouraging squeeze where his hand is settled. wouldn't it be wild if there were lap kisses damn. ]

Lavi really has no idea of Kon's backstory, the reason why he's here in hell -- though asking people 'hey so how did YOU die' is a question that even all of Lavi's charm can't quite pull off at the first meeting. that, and it's something he's willing to leave alone, that's not something he has to know.
but it is with Kon? He wants to know everything, he wants to peel apart each and every layer, metaphorically. also physically........ but yoru is here...... thank god. kon squeezes and lavi takes that as permission to continue, boots finding purchase on the floor as he stands up from his seat, maneuvering himself around so he can bracket Kon in against the counter, using the height difference to tilt his chin up. which is very nice, but also, he's kinda hunched over to enjoy this properly...
a problem he decides to solve by sliding into the very convenient space in front of him, aka kon's lap. he plants one foot on the floor to at least hold up some of his own weight because this binch is heavy? he just wants the closeness. he has a Greed.]

sometimes, you decide to make out with someone that you find absolutely, intellectually fascinating? lavi is full of secrets and history, and kon would like to know more - about him and what makes him tick. what's being hidden. my crime is that of curiosity, after all. but, sometimes, you also make out with someone that is the same height as you.
so it does make it a little funny, when lavi gets up and crowds his space more directly. an amused smile spreads across his mouth briefly in the kiss, but his other hand comes up to help support him. it's not a hard thing to control, especially as he settles on his waist and pulls him in closer.
if his fingertips are under the hem of his shirt, don't worry about it.

Also, kissing is so strange? Like, he should care more about being good at it, the perfectionist in him always wanting to excel, and yet, he doesn't. He doesn't care about the right angle or the amount of pressure or whether or not he's supposed to nip at Kon's bottom lip with his teeth. He is just fully engaged in the moment, letting himself enjoy this closeness to this person who matters so much to him.
