[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
[sweet yoru... goodbye...

Lavi glances up when Kon comes in. He looks tired, and his shoulders are hunched, but he straightens enough to wave him in.]

Hey.
bookpapers: (laughs.....)

CRIES WITH YOU

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Lavi stares at the platter for a moment, then he reaches out to pick up a piece of sushi.]

...You didn't have to, but thanks.
bookpapers: (everyone: shut up lavi)

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
[nomming, then since childe taught him manners, he swallows before speaking again,]

Hey, it wouldn't have bothered me if you had. I gave you a free pass to demand.

[he gave everyone free passes, but like he knew Kon would come? He wasn't sure about the others. also,]

-- This is really good.
bookpapers: (nyehehehe)

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
[at least this time he doesn't cough on his sushi? instead he looks back at kon, expression soft]

...Thanks. I like ya too.

[strange bi panic feelings aside, he does...]

You're the first person I talked to here, y'know. I had a feeling from the start that you were gonna be interesting.
bookpapers: (laughs.....)

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[He glances around as if searching for a clock. I have no idea if there is one, but there probably isn't.]

...We've still got time. [barely any] I can start us off by telling you what happened, yeah?

Cosmos and I woke up at the same time. I never planned on killing him that night or the days before, and he said as much to me. 'Course, I was still paranoid as hell that he might try anyway, so I said we should leave the theater. Didn't wanna get attacked where all you guys were sleeping in the dark, and I was still coughing pretty badly.
bookpapers: (how should i know...)

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[please do he should get bricked by a hell nokia]

I can only tell you what I thought. Or what I didn't think, because I sure as hell wasn't planning on killing anyone. And not because I'm a kind person -- I thought about the offer and realized it wasn't gonna help me any.

[so why was he picked? why did he wake up?]

...I think that's why the octopus was there. To force us into doing something. It was already in Cosmos's form when I saw it, like it'd been waiting for us the entire time. [he lets out a breath] It's like it knew that if it'd been someone I cared about, that I still would have attacked it.

Cosmos didn't. He thought it was someone from home.
bookpapers: (are u srs....)

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
...Not immediately. We followed it into the bar.

[he says this part more slowly than before, like it's painful for him to admit.]

...I fucked up. I thought... no matter what it was, that we'd deal with it somehow. But the siren's song it drank got us to follow it all the way back to the aquarium.
bookpapers: (lenalee... wails)

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[he CLOSES his EYE,]

Yeah........ I saw the sucker for split second, but by then it was too late. That was the smudge on the glass.
bookpapers: but no matter (min jin lee, pachinko) (history has failed us)

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
All the way to its tank. I guess it wanted to be comfy while it ate us or something.

[this could have been vore]

But we both snapped out if when it attacked. That's when I broke the tank, so we could get out. And then... I hit Cosmos while we were fighting.
bookpapers: (standing tall)

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[he looks down at the fingers on his wrist, as if surprised at the contact.]

...It killed him instantly. Octopus grabbed on, so I cut off its arm. [sorry about the arm crimes] I dragged Cosmos out and tried to resuscitate him. I was full out panicking.

[and he also forgot cpr bc i thought it'd be funny]

...Octopus ran and I chased it all the way to the onsen, where I finally killed it.
bookpapers: (runs dramatically into the light)

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[satan is me because i find it funny

He doesn't pull his hand away though. Just sits and thinks about the warmth of Kon's hand, and the difference of this night compared to the one before.]

...Not right away. I had enough time to go back to my room to put my hammer back, and to go to Cosmos' room. I wanted to get his journal.

I brought it back to the aquarium and left it there -- dropped it, actually. Pages got stained so I rewrote most of it. ...It was the only thing I could think of doing for him at the moment.

[goofy grabs everyone MY HANDWRITING CHECK]
bookpapers: (hoodies)

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[his pulse is steady and slow, like saying all of this is lifting some kind of weight, if even for moment.]

...Can I ask ya for a favor?

[he doesn't expect kon to turn him down. is that manipulative of him? even though he's not trying to use this moment for it, and yet... well, it all comes down to his choices. and this is one he'll make now.]
bookpapers: (follows)

[personal profile] bookpapers 2023-02-26 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[at that he cracks a little grin,]

It's not that bad, promise. [WELL

anyway he continues,]

I dunno what your opinion on graves are, but... I think Cosmos should have something more than just that beek. I asked Uri too, if she could think of something for him.
